I'm so sorry everyone, for being so absent these days. I promise I've not forgotten about you all, but my only design class from March to May was pattern drafting (so no designing until my one pair of jeans for the final, which was designed for me, eh...haha), and now I'm in a class that takes up a LOT of my time.
Also, I've had a very intense July, filled with Self-Doubt and some sort of sad Self-Discovery. My first foray into the world of Romance, and after a month-and-a-half glimpse at a life not lived alone, we split. It's been very, very hard on me, and I've gone through a range of emotions that I had previously only experienced from outside observation. So, put that all together, and one class over a summer doing something I was born for is still a continual struggle.

However, that class is my last prerequisite before my Senior Design Classes come Fall, where I develop and create my graduate Senior Collection.

For this class, we have three projects, making three completely different outfits. Each will have pictures I intend to upload on here, and to get to one design, we do 50 sketches, so I will upload them, too.

So far, I've created the first project: 50 Sketches inspired by Shells, with a 60's feel. The resulting Swimsuit and accompanying illustration will be coming VERY soon, like maybe I'll upload the Illustration today?

Next is a Ballet Costume Tutu inspired by swirling Chocolate for one of the character dances in the Nutcracker, under the theme of "Theatricality". I only got about 30 sketches done for that one, but I intend to go back in and create more to flesh out the idea. When that garment is done, pictures and an illustration will be uploaded of it.

I'm about to begin the final project, where I'm going to use a 20's feel and create an evening coat (and dress?) that will undoubtedly incorporate another theme or two for the styling...maybe Indian architectural embellishment, or Crop Circles as a pattern base. Either that, or look at the 1950's, since occasional cocktail dressing is a big inspiration for my Senior Collection.

Also, I designed some outfits for a friend's girlfriend's 21st Birthday, which she asked be based off of the Beatles' "Yellow Submarine". Unfortunately, I have no way of getting them to her, and I fear it's now too late for her to use them, but I'll upload the ones I like from that on here for you, too, soon.

SO that's all the news from me, pretty much. I'm also doing my Senior Collection, so I may upload research, may not. We'll have to see. Thanks for sticking with me, guys!!!

No technical drawings, but now there are FIVE slides I've put together for y'all showing the lineup of the final collection using the illustrations from my final project. I made on the computer with Photoshop, scanning in my sketchbook line drawings, isolating the black as a layer, and applying color beneath. With lines hidden, they look much more realistic, lots of nice depth...however, I enjoy the flatness of them with the thick black lines, so I kept them. Hope you all enjoy the pictures and the collection...and since you saw most of the 100 sketches (or if you didn't, they're in my Gallery), let's hope you are satisfied with the final 30 pieces I chose.

Oh, and if you make a comment about the shoes, when I put brown shoes on their stocking'd legs, they looked like Bambi feet, so stylistic decision to leave them ... essentially "barefoot"...for now. Enjoy!

...well, the Sketches, anyway. Have a look-see at half number 2, which I know is a little weaker because I had to meet my 100-sketch-in-four-day deadline. At the end, I was just drawing EVERYTHING I could think of, to fill the pages.

P.S. How amazing is that emoticon for "Crazy"?

SORRY for the extended absence (again), but school=busy death.

These most recent uploads are about half of my CAD collection, soon to be a fantastic, digital slideshow. They're submitted CHRONOLOGICALLY, so it's just as I thought of things, not as they'd be portrayed in the final lineup, and not all of these looks will be in. Hopefully you like them, feel free to leave input.

BUT!!!

DO NOT say things like "too many arrows" or "not wearable" or "stupid inspiration" or any of that bullcrap. I like what I've done, I think my pieces could easily be worn (or altered down to be more wearable pieces), and regardless, that's not a part of the grading for this assignment. I could make waffle hats if I wanted to, and still do fine for grades.

SO, if you love them, lemme know why, if you hate them, lemme know why, and if you'd wear them, that'd be awesome to mention too. Thanks guys!

Finally back

Hey all. So, I'm in France! I've been in Lacoste about a month and a half now, heading home REALLY soon (craaazy) and I've been so hella busy that I haven't even logged on to DeviantArt for anything but message-checking once a week. My apologies for promising work and not coming through, but here's four NEW NEW NEW pieces that I did in class THIS WEEK. Wow! I hope you like them, since they're not even part of the assignment. Let me know how you feel about them, and I promise you MANY updates this winter break. So many. So so so so so many. Really.
